G what a surprise

I just received a lovely package from my sister a box filled with chocolates, I've already eaten the top layer they are so delicious. 

It was such a nice surprise to start off my weekend.

I cant decide what movie I want to see this evening they both have great ratings but both are very different? 

I'm not sure about seeing a silent movie and a spy movie is usually my husbands cup of tea.

A few days on the sunny west coast

I'm planning a trip to LA, it will be a short trip but I have plans to pack the days full of sightseeing and delicious meals. LA is currently experiencing amazing warm weather and I hope it last's.

Have you spent any time in LA? I would love to hear your recommendations.

Tortilla Soup

Last night I made Tortilla soup, its healthy, light and my favourite part is adding the toppings, jalapeno, red onion, cilantro, cheese, and avocado.

The Stella

Inspired by Stella McCartney's spring design blogger Apollina baked a lemon cake and called it the Stella.

This cake really blows my mind she has captured the fashion perfectly.

Blood Oranges

January arrives with the typical bad weather and long days but one great part about January is that blood oranges are back in season and they are a healthful and delicious snack that feels like summer.

Who can resist a serenade from a mariachi band on the beach?

We took a cooking class at The Little Mexican Cooking School and had a great time. Its an all day event and you not only learn how to cook a few great Mexican dishes but you learn so much about the culture.Here my son is getting a tutorial from chef Pablo on how to sharpen your knife.

Roasting the tomatoes and peppers for salsa.

Chef Pablo demonstrates how guacamole has all the colours of the mexican flag using red tomatoes, green peppers and white onion.

The guacamole 

We made 5 different salsa's and some looked like a hot sauce rather than a salsas but chef Pablo explained a salsa is a condiment not just a chip dip. They are used on meats as a way to enhance the flavour.

Breakfast on this morning was fresh fruit yogurt and granola, it was so simple and so good.
